Detectives will remain in regional Victoria investigating the shooting death of a man in his home two nights ago.
Police were called to a home in Landsborough, northwest of Ballarat, about 7.30pm on Tuesday on reports a man had been shot.
Officers had to negotiate with a 21-year-old man inside the premises, and he surrendered to them about 10.30pm, police said.

A 53-year-old man was found dead inside the house.
The 21-year-old man, believed to be his stepson, was taken into custody and questioned by police.
But he was released pending further inquiries, a Victoria police spokesman said late on Wednesday.
Police inquiries will continue in the Ballarat area on Thursday.
