Man threatens Vic school

Threats made against a Melbourne college are not believed to be linked to a series of hoax phone calls received by schools across the country.

Keysborough College's Noble Park campus was evacuated on Thursday morning after a man standing outside approached a student and made a threat against the school.

The school's principal John Baston said students were evacuated for two hours while police and the education department searched the school.

"All I can say is that it is unrelated to hoax calls schools have received over the last few days," Mr Baston told AAP.

"The students are safe and classes resumed after lunch."

Police are investigating the claims and say they are working to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
