Vic scams targeting job seekers

Dodgy Victorian companies have been posting fake job ads in order to scam job seekers out of thousands of dollars for bogus training courses.

One company posted 46 job advertisements online in 18 months, in a bid to lure applicants into paying hundreds of dollars for training courses and resume services.

"Never pay an employer for training after they've knocked back your application, and beware of anyone who asks for your personal information without an employment contract," Consumer Affairs Minister Marlene Kairouz said on Monday.
