Vic rape, drug accused drops bail bid

A woman's heart stopped beating after she was allegedly drugged by a Melbourne man who is also accused of multiple rapes.

Frank Hu, 34, faces 13 rape charges involving the same victim, with alleged offences spanning from March 2016 to May 2018.

He is also accused of drugging a woman who had a cardiac arrest, placing her in danger of death in July 2019.

The charges relate to two separate victims, Melbourne Magistrates Court was told on Tuesday.

Hu was due to apply for bail but dropped the application before it was heard.

The accused man was asked by the magistrate whether he understood what had happened in court.

"Yes, I fully understand," he replied.

He is due back in court for a committal mention in December.
