Vic policeman charged with assault

A Victorian senior constable has been charged with assault over an incident in a bar when he was off duty.
The alleged assault occurred at a Lakes Entrance venue on March 8.
The eastern region officer was charged with intentionally causing injury and other assault-related offences following a Professional Standards Command investigation, Victoria Police said.

He has been ordered to take leave and will appear at Bairnsdale Magistrates Court on September 10.
