Vic Police to get terror laws they need

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews hasn't committed to allowing 14-year-old terror suspects to be held on control orders but says police will have the powers they need.

NSW and the federal government have flagged changes to terror laws but Mr Andrews is refusing to pre-empt any announcements from his state.

"We will ensure in all things that the Victorian statute book is appropriate and gives to Victoria Police and our partners in the AFP and our national security agencies the tools, if you like, that they need to keep Australians safe," he told reporters on Thursday.
