Police seek to extradite Victorian juvenile escapee Lachlan Mitchell

Victoria Police officers will seek to extradite Victorian juvenile jail escapee Lachlan Mitchell after he was arrested in South Australia.

Mitchell was found in the outer suburbs of Adelaide four days after he fled the Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre last Tuesday in a waiting ute.

Officers from Victoria were set to fly to Adelaide and apply to have Mitchell extradited to Melbourne.

He is scheduled to appear at Adelaide Magistrates' Court on Monday after being refused bail.

A 25-year-old Victorian man - who allegedly helped Mitchell - will also face court on Monday.
