Vic police powers to stop crim catch-ups

Victoria police will soon be able to issue bans stopping convicted criminals from hanging out with each other or interacting online.

Under the anti-association laws, which start on Friday July 1, police can issue bans on convicted criminals, stopping them from associating in person and online with people also convicted of serious crimes.

The powers are aimed at disrupting and dismantling criminal gangs, Police Minister Lisa Neville has told News Corp.
