Vic police officer charged with assault

A police officer has been charged following an alleged assault in Victoria's Mornington Peninsula.
The leading senior constable, from the Southern Metro region, has been charged with one count of unlawful assault over the incident in Rosebud in April.
He has been suspended with pay and will appear in Frankston Magistrates Court on February 11.
