Vic police locate items linked to assault

Police will forensically examine a number of items found near a Melbourne home where a teenage girl was raped during a home invasion.

A man wearing a balaclava entered the Roxburgh Park home just after 7am on Friday and sexually assaulted the 16-year-old in her own bed.

Police on Monday found items they believe were discarded by the man in the front yard of a nearby home as he fled.

They are also investigating whether the man stalked the teen leading up to the attack.

CCTV footage of the man, captured by nearby houses, is being used in the investigation.
