Police investigating drive-by shooting find 'Molotov cocktail'

Numerous shots have been fired at a house in a suspected drive by shooting in Melbourne in the early hours of this morning.

Police are currently at the Katandra Crescent home in Broadmeadows.

It's believed no one was injured in the shooting, which occurred at 3.30am, with the shots only reaching the front fence.

Police are doorknocking and searching the area.

They have scooped up what appears to have been a Molotov cocktail from the backyard of a nearby house, which has a burn mark on it's outside brick wall.

The Corona bottle has been bagged by the investigators.

9NEWS understands the shooting may have targeted underworld figure George Williams.
