Vic police catch unauthorised drivers

A police numberplate scanning operation in Melbourne's west has uncovered almost 200 unauthorised motorists including unlicensed drivers and unaccompanied learners.

The 24-hour operation scanned 22,000 numberplates and found 54 unlicensed and suspended drivers, 14 unaccompanied learner drivers, one stolen vehicle and 76 unregistered vehicles.

Drivers were also caught for drug driving, speeding and using mobile phones.
