Melb men charged with attempted murder
Two men have been charged with attempted murder over a 2011 incident in Melbourne.
Wayne Vitale, 25 of Hampton Park, and Craig Vitale, 27 of Dingley Village, did not apply for bail as they made separate appearances before a bail justice on Friday night.
The pair are both charged with one count each of armed robbery, theft, conduct endangering life, attempted murder, intentionally causing serious injury, and recklessly causing serious injury.
The charges related to an incident in Kingsville in October 2011.
Police say two men, one armed with a firearm, went into a shop on Geelong Road and threatened staff before firing a shot into the cash register in an attempt to steal cash, then took alcohol and fled the scene.
The men then fired a shot at a man in his 50s in a nearby stationary vehicle, wounding his hand and arm, it will be alleged.
Wayne and Craig Vitale were remanded in custody to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Saturday.
