Man dies, another critical in Vic crash

A man has been killed and another is fighting for life after a multi-vehicle crash on Melbourne's Monash Freeway.
Police believe a man pulled his car over on the freeway's outbound emergency lane at Mt Waverley about 1.20am on Friday and got out of the vehicle, before being hit by an oncoming truck.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but later died.

As a result of the crash, a second semi-trailer and white Toyota collided.
The Toyota driver was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
One truck driver sustained minor injuries, while a second had non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and are appealing to witnesses.
