The woman charged with trying to prevent family violence in Victoria has revealed her own history of domestic violence at the hands of an abusive father.
Minister for the Prevention of Family Violence Fiona Richardson's experiences growing up in Tanzania with an abusive, alcoholic father were featured in the ABC's Australian Story on Monday.
Former governor-general Quentin Bryce introduced Monday's program, which followed the Richardson family's journey back to their former city of Dar es Salaam as they come to terms with their troubled history.
