A man who had an ice drug lab and a weapons cache in his Melbourne home has been jailed.

Dylan Kelly, 29, of Narre Warren, had pleaded guilty to all charges arising from a police search of his home in January 2014.

Police found test tubes and other drug-making equipment containing pseudoephedrine and other ice precursor chemicals.

They also found fireworks, detonator cords and black powder explosives and weapons including an air rifle and sling shot.

Judge Frank Gucciardo said drugs were a blight on the community.

"Trafficking a drug of dependence by way of manufacture is a serious criminal offence," the judge said in sentencing.

"This particularly applies to the manufacturing of ice."

Kelly was jailed for one year and will face a further two years of reporting to a police station after his release.
