Vic man assaulted days after house burgled

Witnesses are being sought after a Melbourne man was seriously injured by several people at a home that was burgled just two days earlier.

Police will door-knock homes in Altona Meadows on Friday in the hope someone can shed light on who assaulted the 34-year-old Fawkner man at a home on Oakdene Grove South on October 15 last year.

It was the second time in two days the home was a crime scene after the residents fled the house, jumped the back fence and hid while five burglars searched the house, police say.
