Vic Labor candidate changes security tune

A Victorian Labor candidate who argued against stronger terror laws in 2009 now says she backs the current tougher national security legislation.

Dunkley candidate Peta Murphy put her name to a Liberty Victoria submission arguing against the power to hold people without charge, and supported a bill by the Greens aimed at reforming national anti-terror laws.

But Ms Murphy told News Corp Australia on Friday that she now fully supported the current laws and her 2009 position no longer reflected her current views.
