Vic jetty a no-go zone, police warn
AAP
Boaties will sail straight into troubled waters if they get too close to a military jetty in Victoria's Port Phillip Bay, police warn.
Water police will step up patrols around the Point Wilson jetty, near Avalon Airport, to enforce a 300-metre boat exclusion because boaties are flouting the law.
"We were patrolling the area last weekend and in only one shift, we issued 10 infringement notices to vessel operators breaking the rules," Leading Senior Constable Jon Anderson said in a statement on Wednesday.

The minimum penalty for entering the exclusion zone is $303.
