Vic 'Goldilocks' intruder stays locked up

A Melbourne teen dubbed the "Goldilocks" burglar after he allegedly broke into a home, fell asleep, and threatened a woman who woke him up will remain behind bars indefinitely.

Isaac Henderson, 18, faces charges of burglary and criminal damage over a break-in at Donvale on December 29.

He was on the run until he was arrested and charged on Wednesday, following a public appeal by police.

He applied for bail at Ringwood Magistratres' Court on Thursday, but that was refused on Friday by magistrate Marc Sargent, who remanded the teen in custody.

It's alleged Henderson pulled a knife on Mel Christensen when she returned to her Donvale home with her husband, Tony, last week.

The court on Thursday heard the alleged break-in occurred on December 29 after Henderson had a fight with his father and left his dad's house.

Henderson's lawyer, Amanda Upton, said the teen had became lost, and was looking for a place to sleep and charge his phone.

Police had opposed bail and said Henderson made full admissions to officers about breaking into the property, but denied using a knife.

Henderson allegedly told police he threatened Mrs Christensen with a chicken skewer.

Police told the court they were unable to find any weapons to verify either version.
