Vic family violence inquiry in figures

VICTORIA'S ROYAL COMMISSION INTO FAMILY VIOLENCE:

* Has almost 1000 submissions

* Held 43 community consultations across Victoria

* Holding public hearings until August 14

FAMILY VIOLENCE IN VICTORIA:

* 69,442 incidents reported to police in year to March

* 55 per cent of family homicides linked to intimate relationships

* of that 55 per cent, three quarters of victims are women

* 30 per cent of family violence homicides are between parents and children

* 44 deaths in 2013

ACROSS AUSTRALIA:

* One in six women have been subjected to partner violence after they turned 15

* For men that ratio is one in 20

* On average, 115 people have died of family violence every year between 2002-2012
