Vic duo wanted over attempted murder

Police are hunting a man and woman wanted over the violent stabbing of a man in Melbourne's west.

A 45-year-old man was left for dead after being stabbed numerous times in a home in Werribee on Wednesday morning.

Ambulance Victoria says the man had serious upper body injuries and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hosptial in a critical condition.

Police on Thursday night said Corey Whittle, 39, and Samantha Vella, 25 were wanted over the man's attempted murder.

Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to help locate to pair who are known to frequent the Werribee and Hoppers Crossings areas.
