A group of five alleged drug traffickers accused of distributing a drug concoction that led to deaths in Melbourne and overdoses across the country will remain in custody until their case is heard in June.

Melburnians Nghi Le, 33, Tuan Van Pham, 26, Loan Thi Kim Lo, 27, and Terry Trinh Ostojic, 55, and Italian national Daniele Marchei, 28, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday and did not apply for bail.

Le, of St Albans, has also been charged with three counts of attempted murder and faces charges relating to discharging a firearm placing others in danger of death and assaulting an emergency worker.

The group will reappear in court on June 20 to deal with the drugs matter, while Le will appear on May 22 on the attempted murder, firearm and assault charges.

The five were arrested as part of Victoria Police's Operation Seadragon that targeted an alleged international drug-trafficking syndicate.
