Vic driver ploughs into two houses

A Victorian man who was trapped for hours in his car after he ploughed into two houses has been freed and taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The male driver, the single occupant of the car, was travelling along Bay Shore Road at Clifton Springs, near Geelong, when he lost control and veered into a house about 7.30am on Saturday.

He then struck the neighbouring house and became trapped in the vehicle. No one was home in either of the houses at the time.

The first house sustained minor damage, while the front of the second house was extensively damaged, police say.

The exact circumstances of the crash are being investigated.
