Vic driver had $50,000 in shopping bag

Melbourne police have found $50,000 in a shopping bag after they pulled over a driver.

The officers intercepted the car on the Hume Freeway, north of the city, on Friday after witnesses reported erratic driving.

A plastic shopping bag containing the cash and other items that appeared to be stolen were found during a search of the car.

The 38-year-old driver has been charged, and will face the Shepparton Magistrates Court on Monday.
