Vic cyclist thrown over car in hit and run

A cyclist is in hospital after being thrown over a car in a hit-and-run incident in Melbourne.
Police say the 51-year-old Glenroy man was riding his bike in Footscray on Tuesday morning when he was hit by a car as it tried to turn into a fast-food restaurant.
The cyclist rolled over the car's boot after being struck and landed on the road.

He was taken to hospital with back injuries.
The car continued driving through the restaurant car park, turning onto the street without stopping.
Police have called for witnesses, saying that the crash happened during peak-hour traffic and someone must have seen it.
