Vic cop charged over roo shooting

A Victorian policeman has been charged with a number of gun offences, including the shooting death of a female kangaroo.
The senior constable from the North West Metro region faces offences including using a gun in a town and in a public thoroughfare and destroying protected wildlife.
He has been taken off operational duties and will appear in Heidelberg Magistrates Court on September 16 over the alleged January 17 shooting with a non-police issue firearm.
