Vic builders forced to repair poor work
AAP
Builders will have to repair shoddy work and clients will have to pay contractors for correctly completed work as part of industry reforms in Victoria.
The new rules make it compulsory for builders to work with clients to resolve building disputes in an effort to avoid lengthy court battles and delays in construction, the Victorian government says.
The Victorian Building Authority will also be given more powers to discipline builders under the reforms, which have been rolled out in response to a report by the Victorian auditor-general in May.
