A key figure accused of attempting to import 186kg of cocaine to Australia via an ex-Japanese whaling ship will remain behind bars.
Christopher Peroulis, 48, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Tuesday with an application for bail, but was knocked back.
Last Friday, one of Peroulis' co-accused Omer Tok, 39, was granted bail with a $100,000 surety after he was deemed to have played a small part in the alleged plot.
