Two women assaulted 89yo man: Vic police

Two women are still on the run after assaulting an octogenarian who they followed home two months ago, stealing cash and credit cards.

The 89-year-old man was walking along Plenty Road around 4.45pm on July 23 when he was offered a lift by two female passengers in a taxi parked on the side of the road, police say.

The man declined, but when he arrived at home, he was followed inside by the two women from the taxi.

As one stood guard, the another assaulted the man and stole cash and credit cards from his jacket pocket.

They were last seen getting back into the taxi heading south on Plenty Road.

Police are urging anyone with information to ring crime stoppers.
