Woman killed in car crash after hitting a wombat in Victoria's southcoast

A woman has died after hitting a wombat and losing control of her car in regional Victoria.

Police believe the 20-year-old woman's car hit a wombat in Wattle Bank on Monday evening, causing her to lose control of the car and collide with an oncoming ute.

She died at the scene, while a man and a woman in the ute were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
