Two fires in 30 minutes on same Vic street

Two house fires are under investigation after firefighters were called to the same Victorian street twice within 30 minutes.

Having put out a minor fire at a Ballarat house in Rubicon Street about 2.30am, the CFA was called again to the same street at 2.55am following reports of a house fire a few doors down.

The man, 20, and woman, 55, who fled the second house were treated for smoke inhalation. Both fires are being treated as suspicious.
