Two elderly Vic men assaulted, police say

Two elderly men have been assaulted in regional Victoria, allegedly by attackers about a quarter of their age.

The victims, aged 81 and 77, went outside their Mildura home early on Sunday morning after hearing a noise and were allegedly assaulted by two men aged 20 and 18, police said.

The older man was hospitalised with severe facial injuries, while the alleged attackers were arrested and remanded to appear in Mildura Magistrates Court on Monday, charged with offences including causing serious injury and assault.
