Truck fire closes Westgate Bridge

All lanes into the city on one of Melbourne's busiest bridges are closed following a truck fire.

Two outbound lanes of the West Gate Bridge are also closed.

It is believed the fire started around 7.30am on Friday.

Metropolitan Fire Brigade spokesman Steve Moore said crews were able to quickly contain the burning B-double.

Heavy haulage was on the way to the bridge to remove the truck.
