Trio to face charges over Vic tent death

Three people will be charged in connection with the suspected murder of a woman whose body was found in a burning tent near Geelong.

Two men and a woman, arrested in Sydney, will be extradited to Melbourne to face charges over the death.

The victim has been named by media outlets as 29-year-old Geelong woman Maddison Parrott.

Homeless man Nicholas Cross, 31, is expected to be charged with murder and Todd Daryl Sell, 34, and Tracey Menzies, 31, will be charged with accessory to murder after the fact.

The trio's extradition was approved by Fairfield Local Court on Friday.

The victim was found dead on Tuesday inside a burning tent at the Breakwater Road camping ground.

Heavily-armed police arrested the suspects in suburban Sydney on Thursday.

Footage aired by Seven Network showed them being questioned by detectives and assessed by paramedics while handcuffed on the front lawn of the Greystanes home.

Victorian homicide detectives are expected to return to Melbourne with the accused on Saturday.
