Trio charged after bashing on Melb street

Police have arrested three men in connection with the vicious beating of two men on a Melbourne roadside following an AFL match.

The trio - two 27 year olds and a 24 year old - are being questioned about the alleged assault of a 45 and 61-year-old who were punched in the face multiple times and kicked while on the ground on Thursday night after a football match between Richmond and Hawthorn.

The victims were targeted while trying to hail a taxi along Wellington Parade outside the Pullman Melbourne On The Park hotel.
