Train commuters brace for delays of ‘70’ minutes as upgrades commence

Commuters in Melbourne’s east have been advised of significant delays this week as upgrades to the city’s train network commence.

Works to improve the power supply on the line between Richmond and Camberwell as expected to last six days.

Buses will replace trains on sections of the Lilydale, Alamein, and Glen Waverly lines from 8.30pm Thursday.

Metro Trains advised that passengers could be delayed by “up to 70 minutes” due to the maintenance works.

Normal trains services are expected to resume on December 6.
