Total fire ban for Mallee region in Vic

A total fire ban has been declared for the Mallee region in Victoria's northwest on Tuesday.

Victoria's Country Fire Authority says the ban will remain in effect until midnight and includes Mildura, Swan Hill and Ouyen.

Fire danger is rated as severe with north-easterly winds and temperatures in the mid-30s ahead of a strong, cool south-westerly change and the chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
