Chocolates link car to Vic ram raid

Chocolate bars strewn over the bull bar of a burnt-out ute have linked the vehicle to an earlier Melbourne petrol station ram raid.

It is believed thieves were targeting an ATM inside a Burwood petrol station when they smashed through the front window at 5am on Friday, leaving a trail of glass behind.

Police say a nearby phone booth was also knocked over as the thieves made their getaway.

Five minutes later emergency crews were called to a ute fire outside nearby Jordanville railway station.

When police arrived they found chocolate bars strewn over the ute's bull bar and have since linked it to the scene.
