Teen girl critical after Melbourne smash

A 16-year-old girl is in a critical condition following a single-vehicle accident in Melbourne's west.

A white Holden ute is alleged to have run a red light at Billingham Road in Deer Park shortly before 2am Saturday, narrowly missing another vehicle before striking a power pole.

The teenager was the sole occupant of the utility.
