Second teen charged over deadly daylight Melbourne stabbing

A second teenager has been charged over a fatal stabbing in Melbourne on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to Maribyrnong and Union roads in Ascot Vale at about 3.45pm that day, where they found a wounded man.

The 40-year-old Ascot Vale man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.

A man was fatally stabbed in Ascot Vale, Melbourne, on Sunday afternoon. 9News

An 18-year-old man of no fixed address was charged on Monday with multiple offences including injuring, affray, theft, and fleeing custody.

He remains before the courts.

Yesterday at about 10.45am, police arrested a 16-year-old Moonee Valley boy in Carlton.

He was charged with one count of murder and will appear in a children's court at a later date.

Police are not seeking anybody else in relation to the alleged murder.
