Tattoos could help identify dead Vic man
A man has been found dead in suburban Melbourne and police hope distinctive tattoos will help identify him.
Investigators on Friday launched a public appeal for information after the man, aged in his 30s or 40s, was found dead two days ago in the backyard of a St Kilda home.
"An autopsy has been conducted which indicated that the man possibly died from a fall," police said.
Police have released photos of the tattoos, which include three stars, with one containing what looks like the initials HD.
The man was found in the backyard of a home just after 9.30pm on Wednesday, police said.
He was wearing a blue check shirt, black track pants, a green jacket and moccasins.
Police have also released a computer-generated image of the man and are urging those with information about his identity to come forward.
