Suspicious warehouse fire in Melbourne

An abandoned warehouse riddled with asbestos has gone up in flames in Melbourne.

Firefighters were called to the North Melbourne warehouse on Sunday morning and discovered high flames and heavy smoke.

The fire was brought under control in an hour and safety procedures were put in place when asbestos was discovered in the roof of the building.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and police are investigating.
