Suspicious blaze in Melbourne's east

Investigators are looking into a suspicious fire that caused $200,000 worth of damage to an east Melbourne house.

Melbourne Fire Brigade says it took 20 firefighters to put out the blaze on Cityview Road in Balwyn North after it received reports of explosions and smoke just before 5am on Friday.

No one was found inside the house and investigators are trying to determine what caused the fire.
