Police discover $3 million worth of meth inside car during traffic stop in regional Victoria

A 20-year-old man has been charged after he was allegedly caught with $3 million worth of methamphetamine inside his car in regional Victoria.

Police intercepted a Honda HRV on Horsham Road in Stawell about 2.20am yesterday.

Officers searched the car and found two phones, cash, and what is alleged to be methylamphetamine.

The driver, a 20-year-old Keilor Downs man, was arrested at the scene.

Police allege a traffickable quantity of methylamphetamine worth $3 million was found inside the car.

He has since been charged by detectives with trafficking a large commercial quantity of methylamphetamine and was remanded in custody to appear before the Horsham Magistrates' Court today.

Stawell is located about 237km north-west of Melbourne.
