A 16-year-old caught driving at more than double the speed limit has lost his new car and been charged with six driving offences.
Police say the North Altona teen was travelling at 158km/h in a 70km/h zone with three teenage boys in the car, but no licensed driver.
His car, which he bought on Friday, has been impounded for 30 days and the teen will face a children's court at a later date.
