Shotgun used in Melbourne street robbery

Two men waiting for a lift home on the side of a busy Melbourne street have been targeted by thieves armed with a sawn-off shotgun.

The men were standing on the footpath of William Street about 5am on February 19 when the armed men approached them.

One of the robbers pointed his sawn-off shotgun at his victims, before his accomplice demanded all their possessions be thrown on the floor, police said as they released CCTV footage of the pair on Tuesday.
