Shambrook family thanks emergency workers

The parents of 11-year-old autistic boy Luke Shambrook, who went missing in bushland over Easter, have thanked the those who helped find him.

Rachel Shambrook praised the emergency service workers for their tireless efforts over the four-day search, at Victoria's parliament house on Wednesday.

"You kept the hope alive and it's beyond words to describe how thankful we are," she told them.

Luke went missing from a camping area near Lake Eildon and spent four days in rugged bushland before being spotted by the Police Airwing just 3km from where he was last seen.

Mrs Shambrook said Luke was making good progress in his recovery.
