Security, man in altercation at MCG

Police have been forced to break up an altercation between a man and two MCG security guards.

The assault started inside gate four about 6pm AEST on Sunday night, after an AFL match between Essendon and Hawthorn.

Police stepped in and separated the trio as the altercation spilled outside the gate.

Two men, aged 23 and 25, suffered minor injuries and were treated by paramedics.

It's not known if those injured were the security staff.

A third man has been questioned and released pending further inquiries.

Police are keen to speak with any witnesses.
