2nd missing person from Vic retreat found

A woman missing overnight from a Victorian Buddhist retreat has been found safe and well.

The 44-year-old is the second woman to go missing from the retreat in the past week, with Veronique Biunkens, 41, found on January 12 after being lost for five days.

In the latest missing person case for the Sakya International Buddhist Academy in W Tree, near Buchan, the woman went out for a walk at 9.30am on Monday and didn't return.

She was reported missing by the retreat at 2.30pm and found just before midday on Tuesday.

She fared better than Ms Biunkens who was not reported missing by the retreat until she had been gone for almost five days.

The Dutch national stuffed tree moss in her clothes and drank creek water to survive in the remote Victorian bushland before she was found just over one kilometre from the retreat.

The retreat told AAP the two women are known to each other, but they would not comment further.
